The album follows up to his 2010 album All I Want Is You, which disappointed music critics. The album will be released in three parts, the EP titled Kaleidoscope Dream: The Water Preview was released on July 31, 2012.[3] It features the song "Adorn" and two other tracks "Don't Look Back" and "Use Me". The second EP Kaleidoscope Dream: The Air Preview was released on September 11, 2012 and it features "Do You" produced by Jerry Wonda , title track "Kaleidoscope Dream" produced by Salaam Remi and "The Thrill" . The album itself will include all six songs from the EPs, as well as five additional tracks, and will be available digitally and physically on October 2, 2012. On August 1, 2012, Miguel performed in a show in New York City to promote the release of Kaleidoscope Dream: The Water Preview and he appeared on BET's 106 & Park that same day to premiere his new video "Adorn". Miguel performed a new song called "Candles In The Sun" which is set to appear on Kaleidoscope Dream, he also performed a cover of Tupac's "I Get Around".
