Canaan Smith announced today that he’ll release his debut album, titled Bronco, on June 23rd. The album follows his self-titled EP, an enticing mix that draws on a variety of influences and features the immensely successful “Love You Like That.” A catchy first offering, “Love You Like That” currently sits at #17 on country radio, according to Mediabase.

Smith recently chatted with us about his EP and upcoming album, the title track of which, “Bronco,” is an ode to his late brother.

“I’m hell-bent on quality songs,” he said. “My favorite track [on the album] is called “Bronco.” It’s a song about the loss of my brother, and the Ford Bronco truck that he drove. Songs like that are the ones that are important to me to put out, ‘cuz you know, fads come and go, and we don’t know where the sound of country music is going, but we do know that stories last forever. So I just want quality songs, and that’s what I’m focused on writing and finding to record.”

Smith recently completed his tour with Dan + Shay, and will join Dierks Bentley, Kip Moore, and Maddie & Tae on the road next.
