Katie Melua凱蒂·瑪露19歲，俄羅斯人，成長于俄羅斯及英國。2003年底，首支單曲“The Closest Thing To Crazy”發行便強登英國金榜Top 10。不久，廣獲好評的首張專輯一舉擠下英倫人氣天后Dido/蒂朵、擊退Norah Jones，榮獲6周英國金榜后座，成為英國2004開春迄今最暢銷專輯。聲線兼備藍調、民謠、爵士味道的Katie Melua，常被樂評拿來與諾拉·瓊絲相提并論。但她那相較甜美清澈的年輕嗓音，讓人遙想起已逝的跨界流行爵士美聲Eva Cassidy。而在被Mike Batt發掘的那天，Katie所演唱的正好就是受Eva啟發而學下的創作曲“Faraway Voice”。此外，她也自承在音樂方面受到Queen、Joni Mitchell、Bob Dylan和印度音樂及愛爾蘭民謠等多類樂風的影響。

The House is the fourth studio album by the Georgian-born British singer-songwriter Katie Melua, and will be released on 24 May 2010. This is Melua's first studio album not to be produced by Mike Batt. The first single from the album, "The Flood", will be released on 17 May 2010 and was written by Melua, Guy Chambers and Lauren Christy.
