兼具著流行樂的動人情感，以及聲樂的戲劇張力，這就是喬許(Josh Groban)的流行聲樂唱法中的獨特魅力，他的歌聲可以在震撼人心的瞬間同時帶來心靈的撫慰，在2007年8月28號，這位榮獲葛萊美獎肯定的跨界巨星，用他的歌聲澎湃了美國猶他州鹽湖城的Energy Solutions Arena演唱會場內1萬5千名樂迷的心，“紐約時報”盛贊喬許在這一場演唱會中展現了他撼動全場觀眾情感的力量，就在2008年的5月，這個歌聲的力量透過其CD/DVD影音大碟“Awake Live”完全釋放。
“Awake Live”的DVD完整捕捉喬許在這場長達100分鐘的演唱會中百分之百的歌唱功力，所演唱的曲目包括了蟬聯全美抒情榜6周冠軍，同時獲得葛萊美獎提名的勵志佳作“You Raise Me Up”，與法國著名的世界音樂組合森林物語(Deep Forest)的團員Eric Mouquet攜手創作的動人戀曲“Remember When It Rained”，來自2001年雙白金銷售認證同名專輯中深受歡迎的作品“Canto Alla Vita”、“Alla Luce Del Sole”以及許多出自2006年亞軍專輯“Awake”中的歌曲，像是鼓動關愛精神的單曲“You Are Loved (Don’t Give Up)”，從南非的種族隔離事件中取得靈感的“Weeping”，關懷南非現狀的小品“Lullaby”，還有與葛萊美獎提名的掙脫合唱團(Five For Fightinh)創作主將John Ondrasik所合寫的感性好歌“February Song”，以及與被Bono譽為最閃耀的非洲女藝人Angelique Kidjo真情合唱的“Pearls”。CD部分則是包括了“February Song”、“Weeping”等9首歌曲。
來自加州的喬許自出道以來總計發行了3張錄音室專輯，2張現場演唱CD/DVD專輯，與1張圣誕應景專輯，張張皆在排行銷售方面交出漂亮的成績單，其中2003年的專輯“Closer”與2007年歲末的圣誕專輯“Noel”雙雙勇奪全美流行專輯榜冠軍王座，而且“Noel”還一舉成為2007年全美年度最暢銷的一張專輯，同時還以蟬聯5周冠軍的紀錄刷新了貓王保持了51年之久的圣誕專輯“Elvis’ Christmas”蟬聯冠軍周數最多的紀錄。喬許在2006年所發表的專輯“Awake”則是一張在全美銷售超過200萬張的亞軍專輯。喬許的前2張現場演唱CD/DVD專輯亦都有闖進TOP40的優異表現，其中首張CD/DVD演唱專輯“Josh Groban In Concert”還是2003年全美最暢銷的長版音樂錄影帶專輯。喬許同時也是21世紀以來最受歡迎的抒情歌手，他為動畫片【北極特快車】所灌錄的主題曲“Believe”，還有圣誕歌曲“O Holy Night”以及“To Where You Are”、“Alla Luce Del Sole”等歌曲通通登上抒情榜冠軍，而在熱門影集【艾莉的異想世界】中一唱成名的代表作“You’re Still You”與“You Are Loved (Don’t Give Up)”、“Remember When It Rained”、“February Song”、“Little Drummer Boy”等歌曲紛紛打進抒情榜TOP 20。在2008年的葛萊美獎頒獎典禮上，喬許還與波伽利共同以歌聲向傳奇男高音帕華洛帝致敬。
“Awake Live”是喬許的第3張CD/DVD現場演唱影音大碟，喬許之所以選定鹽湖城做為此張演唱會的錄制地點，是為了榮耀自己歌唱生涯中的兩個關鍵時刻，因為這座城市不僅是他出道以來首度舉辦大型演唱會的地方，而且他也曾在2002年再度重返這座城市，獲得在全球20億觀眾同時觀看的冬季奧運閉幕典禮中高歌的殊榮。隨著此張專輯的發行，這位當代最耀眼的抒情巨星將再度把樂迷的情緒沸騰到另一個高點！

Awake Live is a Live Concert album & video by singer Josh Groban. It was released on May 6, 2008.

In the United States, the album is available as a single release in most retail stores. However, the Official Josh Groban website released a limited edition internet version of the CD & DVD with bonus music, alternate album cover and expanded booklet with fan generated photos.

Awake Live captures the Grammy Award-winning singer's performance at Salt Lake City’s EnergySolutions Arena before a sold-out crowd of 15,000 fans on August 28th, 2007. While the DVD includes favorites from Groban’s three best-selling albums, including “Canto Alla Vita” and “Alla Luce del Sole” from his double-platinum self-titled 2001 debut, and “You Raise Me Up” and “Remember When It Rained” from the multi-platinum 2003 album Closer, the majority of the songs are from Awake, including the singles “You Are Loved (Don’t Give Up),” “February Song,” and “Lullaby.” Released in September 2006, Awake debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard album chart and has sold more than two million copies in the U.S.

Awake Live is Groban’s third live DVD, following 2002’s Josh Groban in Concert and 2004’s Live at the Greek. The Salt Lake City location was selected in honor of his first arena concert, which occurred in the same city. Groban also sang at the closing ceremony for the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City, a performance that was seen by more than two billion people.

On May 15, 2008 over 30 Theatres nationwide will participate in a screening of Josh Groban's Awake Live in HD. "Awake Live" is the first time the internationally-renowned vocalist will showcase a live performance on the silver screen.
