《笑住喊》是 Gareth.T 湯令山繼《勁浪漫超溫馨》后推出的全新粵語作品。如題，新曲主題就是關于喊（ “喊”即粵語里的“哭泣” ）的美好。面對以及抒發自已的負面情緒從來都不是易事，尤其是當社會上有很多人都仍將羞恥和內疚感和哭泣掛上關系。Gareth 就想以這首單曲與這種落后的思想抗衡，宣揚落淚能帶來的療愈。即使淚在流，亦可以笑出來。笑中有淚的主題貫穿全首單曲，而作曲本身那種富有九十至千禧年代的質感亦為單曲增添意思。歌詞則林海峰填寫，貫徹阿Jan 的風格，既惹笑亦同時能引人深思。 笑住喊 is Gareth.T’s sophomore Cantonese song, following last year’s hit song hyperromantic. Released almost a year after the last, this new track speaks in the positive aspects of crying. Although crying is more accepted in 2022, some people still associate shame and guilt with this expression of sadness. Gareth combats this backwards ideology, highlighting the benefits and therapy that crying gives and contrasting the bittersweet emotions of laughing while crying. The theme of comedy through tragedy is apparent, and is intentionally wrapped up in a throwback late 90s early 00s production and songwriting style, helmsd by Gareth himself. The lyrics are written by HK music legend Jan Lamb, whose lyrics blend perfectly with the serious yet humorous production.
