可以稱的上是慢熱型的Dead Can Dance把多產的黃金80年代留在了身后，慢慢地攀爬著音樂的高峰，終于在1993年推出了他們的這張頂峰之作。Into The Labyrinth的后期混音與制作都是在教堂之中完成，Perry 和Gerrard極為精心的制作，而同時由WEA和4AD共同發行不難看出兩位成員對與之千絲萬縷的美國樂壇的野心。 出色的專集封面設計取材一張名為"hand od the world"的照片，那雙覆蓋著世界的手指引著我們進入迷宮?！癝aldek”一類的中東音樂依然是Dead Can Dance作品中最深的痕跡。Perry的歌聲中多了幾分凝重與成熟，尤其是在“ The Carnival Is Over”和由Bentolt Brecht作詞的“ How Fortunate the Man With None ”。 由Gerrard清唱的“The Wind That Shakes the Barley ”是為了紀念M.Coppers而作，像幼時睡床邊母親的歌謠。
