With its emphasis on sweeping orchestral arrangements, celestial choral passages, and angelic boy sopranos, Pathfinder most closely resembles the over the top heroic grandeur of Hans Zimmer's Gladiator, arguably the benchmark for a score of this type, but Elias offers few if any personal twists on the formula -- moreover, the melodies seem mailed in, and thematic development is virtually nil.
