Maria Taylor’s fourth solo album marks her first foray into handling all production duties herself, having worked primarily with fellow Saddle Creek staples Andy LeMaster and Mike Mogis on her previous records – and she hasn’t played it too safe. Gone are the acoustic trappings of 2009′s LadyLuck (mostly, anyway), and in comes a bit of rock swagger and rawer aesthetic that Maria says is an attempt to reflect the music scene in her Alabama home state.
