Phantoms have an uncanny knack for the provocative music video. Their last video for “Broken Halo” made our best of the week and best of the year lists. Today, the L.A. electro-pop duo drops another gem in the video for the Nicholas Braun collaboration “Voyeur.” The track has the groovy gloom we’ve come to know, but director Ace Norton’s video is just plain dark, both in its black-and-white shots and its narrative. An audition gone bad ignites fits of rage in an emotionally unstable ballerina before an epic West Side Story-like dance-fight, and some sick “Thriller”-esque choreography. It’s never been more inviting to despair while you dance. Watch.
